League Overview
MSLL is an instructional league focused on developing the next generation of Marblehead softball players. Our league is inclusive and fun is at the heart of everything we do.
Division Overview
Lower Minors (6-8)
- Introduction to softball for most players.
- Two days per week, typically one weeknight and 1 weekend day. All activities are in Marblehead.
- Focus on skills through games VS playing true softball games. Games are hybrid
- Basic Skills include; throwing, catching, hitting and some baserunning
Minors (9-10)
- Heavy focus on skills development. Throwing, catching and fielding. Positions and position specific skills are introduced.
- In game IQ concepts are introduced
- Time commitment is 2-3 days per week.
- Modified games are played 1-2 days per week. Games will be in Marblehead and local neighboring towns such as Salem, Lynn and Peabody.
- Player pitching and catching becomes part of the game
Majors (11-12)
- Expanded skills development. In game skills focus on baserunning (including stealing and sliding), position and in game awareness, strategy.
- Games are played 2-3 times per week (1 weekend) and are played in Salem, Peabody, Wyoma and other area towns.
- Ability for potential All Star Play in district, state, sectional, regional and worldwide LL International tournament (subject to eligibility)
Juniors
- Advanced skills such as stealing, sliding, cut-offs etc.
- Game rules similar to USA Softball and full high school rules
- Games are played 2-3 times per week (1 weekend) and are played in Salem, Peabody, Wyoma and other area towns.
- Ability for potential All Star Play in district, state, sectional, regional and worldwide LL International tournament (subject to eligibility)
